Can I apply for more than one award?

No. Applicants can only apply for one scholarship per scholarship period. Be sure to check the scholarship details and guidelines to ensure the award you're applying for best fits your needs. 

Who is eligible to apply?

All applicants must identify as Black Womxn, must be 17 or older, must be a California resident, must be actively enrolled during the award period (for academic awards), and must have a high school diploma or GED (except in the case that the applicant is seeking funding for the purposes of receiving a high school diploma or GED). We encourage womxn of all ages to apply.

What is the difference between the Academic Scholarship and the Learner Scholarship?

The Academic Scholarship supports full-time students who are actively enrolled in a degree or trade program in any major. This $1,000 award supports tuition, transportation, books, fees, supplies and cost of living associated with degree completion.  

The Learner Scholarship supports Black Womxn learners interested in cultivating a new skill, exploring a hobby or expanding their knowledge in a dedicated area. This is not an academic-based scholarship so you do not need to be enrolled in a degree seeking program to be considered.

What is the application timeline?

Applications are currently closed. The next scholarship cycle will begin October 2021.
